Listen-and-Repeat
Listen-and-Repeat is a very powerful function. It not only can contrast original with recorded sound wavedform, it also can contrast left and right sound track. Cooperating with different study method, let your learning efficiency be improved notably. It rapidly solves the difficulty of pronunciation.

Notice:

Open Listen-and-Repeat Window

  • Click the Listen-and-Repeat button on Main Window; Or

  • Press the shortcut key of "F3"; Or

  • Click "Menu" -> "Study" -> "Listen-and-Repeat";

    After you opened it, an interface will appear as shown in the following picture:
First of all, you must choose a kind of Study Method from Study Method List. Study methods include three kinds: Automatic Study Method, Manual Study Method, and Self-defined Study Method. The Automatic Study Method is the default study method when you're just starting Listen-and-Repeat.
  • Previous Sentence Button
    Under the Automatic Study Method and Manual Study Method mode, pressing this button will play the previous sentence, and the corresponding waveform is displayed. If it is under the Self-defined Study Method mode, this button can just be used only after you're finished studying a sentence.

    Shortcut Key: F7

  • Next Sentence/Cut Sentence Button
    Under the Automatic Study Method mode, pressing this button will play the next sentence, and the corresponding waveform is displayed. Under the Manual Study Method mode, after pressing this button, the icon of the button is turned into scissors, it means that you can press this button to cut a sentence. Later the icon of the button turns into the original figure again. You could use this function repeatedly until the whole Course File is finished. Under the Self-defined Study Method mode, this button can be used only after you're finshed studyinig a sentence.

    Shortcut key: F8

  • Exit Self-defined Study Method Mode Button
    This button is activated only under the Self-defined Study Method mode. You can press this button anytime under Self-defined Study Method mode to exit the Self-defined Study Method mode and to get back to the default mode.

  • Record Button
    Press this button and then talk into to your microphone. The Recording Waveform Zone will show the waveform of your speech. If there are no recording waveforms, namely only show a green line in the middle of Recording Waveform Zone, then please check whether your microphone has been connected with computer, or the recording volume of the microphone is at a suitable position.

    While recording, the characters on Record Button are turned into Stop. Clicking it to stop recording. Please note while recording: the Recording Progress Bar will display the progress of the recording. You can press the Stop Button to stop recording. Otherwise recording will stop automatically when the Recording Progress Bar shows 100%.

    Shortcut Key: R

  • PlayRec Button
    After the recording finished, clicking this button will play your recorded sound. The characters on the button is turned into Stop while playing. Clicking it will stop playing.

    Shortcut Key: P

  • Play Button
    Clicking Play Button will play original sound. The characters on the button is turned into Stop. Clicking it will stop playing.

    Shortcut Key: F9

  • Comparing Original and Recorded Sound Button
    After the recording is finished, clicking this button will play original and recorded sound successively. The characters on the button is turned into Stop while comparing. Clicking it will stop comparing.

    Shortcut Key: Y

  • Comparing Left and Right Sound Track Button
    After the recording finished, you will hear original and recorded sound separately in right and left sound track by clicking this button. So you can compare the two sounds at the same time. The characters on the button is turned into "stop" while comparing. Clicking it will stop comparing.

    Shortcut Key: V

  • Current Playing Sentence Showing Column
    On the lower right corner of this window there is a number showing the playing sentence's number and the sentence total number. For example, "9/23" means that the whole course file includes 23 sentences, you are studying the 9th sentence now.

  • Recording Volume Adjuster
    On the bottom of the window there is Recording Volume Adjuster. It will help you adjust the size of volume of the recording.

  • Close Button
    Clicking Close Button will close the window.
